I had a virus, Klez; removed it; and solitaire would not work. Reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled Windows 98 from the recovery disk. Solitaire worked. Installed 2003 Norton Anti-Virus and all updates. Solitaire does not work. Went to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and removed games.
